The service consists of hot soup, chilled main
meal and dessert. On receipt of meal the recipient can choose:-
1. Consume hot soup on delivery
2. Reheat main course and dessert (as per instructions on the label) and consume
immediately. The meal should not be reheated more than once
3. Refrigerate (as per instructions on label) and reheat at time convenient. Shelf life of the chilled food, if stored as per instructions is up to five days, facilitating the provision and delivery of more than one meal on a particular day. It is important to follow the instructions on the label. If the meal is not being reheated immediately it should be refrigerated on delivery. Requests for therapeutic diets should be notified on appropriate application form.
Unfortunately, individual likes and dislikes cannot be catered for.
In addition to the nutritional benefits available through this service, provision is made for social contacts for senior and
disabled people living alone.
Those who because of age, disability or illness are unable to prepare an adequate meal for themselves
have no one to prepare meals
have inadequate cooking facilities
have health and social needs that are defined
by doctors, hospitals and Public Health Nurses
Referrals can come from Public Health Nurses and concerned friends and
relatives.A refrigerator and microwave are necessary
to avail of the service.
Meals are delivered between the hours of 11.00am and 2.00pm. Notification to the
office is necessary if recipient will not be home so arrangements can be made for leaving the dinner.
Cancellation of Meals:
Meals may be cancelled by phoning 0433350114 or 043 3350138 up to 9.30am on the day of delivery, or the day before the delivery.
We strive to make the meals reasonable and affordable. Cost to the recipient is subject to change due to the cost of food. Notification of any increase in cost will be given to each recipient prior to the increase. Our meal production complies with all current food safety regulations.
